taking the jump
The events of recent years have changed me. I can't deny that. My soul has been softened, broken, sculpted, and pieced back together again more times than I can remember. There's been plenty of times where I thought I was taking a step out on faith and I ended up getting wounded. And nobody likes getting wounded. Getting hurt makes people cautious and cynical. It makes people second guess their choices, hesitant about trusting God, and reluctant placing their lives in His hands while hoping for a better future. I don't want to live a life in the darkness. I don't want to be a coward who's afraid of pain and spends him time scheming over the crumbs of life, the things that don't matter. Life is too short to be lived devoid of the courage and wisdom of love. I know my current circumstances aren't ideal, but once again, I'm taking the step out and committing myself to being a better man than I am today - not only for my sake, but for hers. Here we go. Abba, Father. I'm trusting in your grace. Mark your calendars and block off a weekend in December. |

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! i just got shiv's voicemail!!! congratulations!!! so exciting!!! can you tell by the excessive usage of "!!!" ? haha...
I've been reading your blog for a long time now - from graduating from college up to the present. I find it strange that I've never messaged you before but I feel that now is as good a time as any to tell you, that you've had a profound impact on my life. Your insightful entries about life and growing, reassure me that even through tough times with enough faith, in one's self and in God, there will always be that gleaming light of hope at the end of tunnel.
I've come to see you as a friend and a mentor. Reading your entries throughout these last few years, I consider myself fortunate to have seen how far you've come in terms of spiritual growth and what not. Seeing this post is a great example of that. I truly am happy for you and wish you & your fiance nothing but the best.
