marinating

From a movie I previously reviewed.

One late autumn night, the disciple awoke crying. So the master asked the disciple, "Did you have a nightmare?"

"No."

"Did you have a sad dream?"

"No," said the disciple. "I had a sweet dream."

"Then why are you crying so sadly?"

The disciple wiped his tears away and quietly answered, "Because the dream I had can’t come true."

Somewhere in service I heard this verse this past day...

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future." Jer. 29:11

Being sent into exile is pretty scary. Lots of unknowns, lots of fears. I personally have not read Jeremiah yet, but from the little knowledge I have of the book, you never know what will come in the future. Sometimes bad things may come. But, the hope is that God is good and can bring you back to the promised land.

I know about sweet dreams and believing that they can't come true. I was once down in the hell that was my own world. But someone prayed for me throughout all that time and things turned out alright. Even though it started in Jr. High and took 3 years to get a little better in High school. There were many twists and turns.

God can do great things for you. But it's more than that. God loves you man.

I don't know if I helped you just now or caused you to feel worse...but I know that your faithfulness to God will not go unrewarded. Not that I "know", but moreso I believe that God is true to His word.

Things will be alright. Don't give up on your dreams. They may come out differently. They may come out much later. They may not come out at all. But if you give up, then they won't come out at all for sure. But don't get me wrong, you have to make them happen to have them happen. Reality is sobering, and it hurts, but growth doesn't come without pain. Man, this was a good pep talk for me. heh

jon f.> you're a good guy, bro. thx for the words.
