Amy Tan novels and their thinly veiled propaganda may be comfortable for non-Asian Americans to read, but I for one am glad a new generation of writers are now coming up. No more tired and predictable plots of "I'm an immigrant daughter oppressed by my culture and the white man is the only one who can liberate me" crap.
