So I spent Thanksgiving in NorCal... but more on that later. So much has been happening...

  • Pat Morita Passes Away - The guy most famous for playing "Mr. Miyagi", but he was also a huge figure in the Asian American entertainment community. I'll always remember the first time I saw him as a character other than "Mr. Miyagi"... it was the TV production of "Farewell to Manzanar" that my 7th grade social studies teacher, Mrs. Wong, showed us. RIP.

  • Court of Appeals Rules 2-1 Against Chinese Family - Another blow to the parents of Anna Mae He, the young Chinese girl who was basically KIDNAPPED from her family by rich white people. For more details on the case, check this link. The moral of the story? If you're an immigrant, don't go trusting white Southern "Christian" organizations with your kids. Reading about this story just makes me both sad and pissed off at the same time...

  • War-torn Bosnian Town Unveils Bruce Lee Statue - This is cool. Seattle should join the fun and unveil its own monument, considering the fact that both Bruce Lee and his son are buried here.

  • Jerry Large - My favorite columnist at the Seattle Times recently wrote an insightful piece that resonated with me on the holidays, family, and consumerism .

  • Man Convicted of Stealing LEGOs - And I thought I was a fan... this guy is super nutty. If he only had the patience to wait until Black Friday, I swear those Millenium Falcon sets were on sale for 50% off.
